Operation in Lustenau
Truck threatened to fall into stream bed
On Wednesday evening, a truck weighing several tons almost fell into the bed of a stream in Lustenau. Thanks to the expert efforts of the fire department and a lot of horsepower, this was prevented.
This was not a good idea: at around 7.30 p.m., a truck driver drove his vehicle weighing several tons into an unpaved road in the "Zur Feldrast" subdivision in Lustenau. Due to the rain, the road was completely muddy and the contours were barely recognizable. As a result, the truck ended up on the verge near the shooting range there and threatened to fall into a stream.
Due to the adverse conditions, the alerted firefighters had great difficulty getting to the scene. In the end, however, they were able to free the truck from its predicament thanks to several cable winches and a powerful tractor - an operation that took around two hours.
