Abandonment in Vienna
Death threat to “ex”, then man injures police officer
Frightening scenes took place in a house in Vienna-Donaustadt on Tuesday. A man (23) allegedly refused to leave his ex-girlfriend's apartment. He then allegedly threatened to kill the 22-year-old. Police officers had to intervene - and also beat him up.
Because the 23-year-old did not want to leave his ex-girlfriend's house, the police had to intervene at around 1.30 p.m. on Tuesday. The raving man was immediately banned from entering and approaching the house and a temporary weapons ban was issued.
Further attacks on officers
When the man had finally left the house, he suddenly punched an officer. A subsequent attempt to arrest the 23-year-old was futile as he became increasingly aggressive. One of the police officers had to make use of pepper spray, Vienna police said on Wednesday. But even the use of weapons did not stop the young man from continuing to injure the officers with punches and kicks.
Police officers were unable to continue their duties
After the man was finally arrested, three police officers had to leave duty due to their injuries. "The suspect was remorseful during questioning", said the police. He was released.
