Horrific crime in China
Teenagers killed 13-year-old and buried body
In China, a teenager has allegedly been killed by three peers and buried in a hole. The case is making waves in the country. The 13-year-old victim disappeared on March 10 near Handan, a city with over a million inhabitants in the south of Hebei province, and was later buried in an abandoned greenhouse, Chinese state media reported on Tuesday, citing the police.
The greenhouse was about 100 meters away from the house of one of the suspects. According to an official statement, all the suspects were arrested just one day later. In China's state-controlled social media, such as on the online platform Weibo, the case was one of the most discussed topics in the meantime. According to initial findings, the investigators assumed that the crime was premeditated, said a police officer in an interview on Chinese state television on Monday.
Teenagers dug a hole for two days
The alleged perpetrators had dug the 56-centimeter-deep hole in the greenhouse over two days, he added. The police officer rejected claims on the Internet that adults were involved as false.
Victim is said to have injuries to face and upper body
In the meantime, the authorities have completed an autopsy on the victim. A task force consisting of 60 police officers is investigating the case. There was initially no information on the reasons for the boy's death. The Chinese newspaper "The Paper" published a video online in which the lawyer for the victim's family spoke of the "shocking sight" of the dead boy. He also reported injuries to the teenager's face and upper body.
