Drug delivery by cab: dealer caught
A 55-year-old cab driver not only transported passengers on his journeys in Villach. He also delivered smuggled drugs to addicts himself.
At some point, the 55-year-old man from Villach could no longer afford his own drug consumption, so he also began to sell drugs. After months of investigation, the police have now been able to catch him. "Officers from the task force to combat street crime from the Carinthian State Office of Criminal Investigation managed to catch the 55-year-old red-handed," the police report. "He was about to sell cocaine and herbal cannabis to two customers."
His "customers" got into the cab shortly before the deal, transacted everything there and got out again - that's when the police struck. "Both customers were charged. Shortly afterwards, the officers arrested the 55-year-old cab driver," said the police. "During the subsequent personal and house searches, almost 86 grams of cocaine and around one kilogram of amphetamine were seized."
The criminal cab driver had been procuring the drugs in Slovenia for some time and smuggled them to Carinthia. "He sold the drugs for a profit, mainly in Villach, and used them to finance his lifestyle and addiction," explained the police. The 55-year-old was taken to Klagenfurt prison.
