Falstaff Guide 2024
A shower of awards for Salzburg restaurateurs
Falstaff has published the best culinary addresses in the country in its new restaurant and inn guide. Salzburg's restaurateurs can look forward to receiving several awards this year.
Only two restaurants in the whole of Austria have been awarded the full 100 points by Falstaff to date - the "Steiereck im Stadtpark" and the "Amador". A Salzburg restaurant has now also risen to the top of the Falstaff rating: The "Ikarus" in Hangar-7.
"Martin Klein demonstrates consistency and excellence at 'Ikarus Hangar-7' in a way that we simply had to award the highest score. Cooking a completely new menu every month, a completely new style of cuisine at the highest international level - that is craftsmanship at its best," the editors decided.
Andreas Senn and his chef Christian Geisler also made a leap up the rankings with "Senns Restaurant". They are now among the top 3 in Austria. In the "Food" category, the Salzburg restaurant received the highest score of 50 out of 50 points.
Hermann Döllerer has a very special reason to be happy: he was honored by Falstaff for his life's work. "Innkeeper. Hotelier. Wine merchant. Wine glass producer. Festival board member. Hermann Döllerer was and is many things at the same time," recognized Falstaff.
Also successfully included in the 2024 listing are these Salzburg restaurants: Obauer in Werfen, Kräuterreich bei Vitus Winkler in St. Veit, Mayer's at Schloss Prielau in Zell, Mesnerhaus in Mauterndorf, Vigne Pfefferschiff in Hallwang, Weyerhof in Bramberg, Dahoam in Leogang, Kirchenwirt in Leogang, echt.gut essen in Leogang, Esszimmer in Salzburg and Salzburgerstube in Zell.
