Professional sport after birth
“Super Mama” even has her own pelvic floor physio
Mama mia! Despite a two-year baby break, Britt Eerland (30) is set to follow in the very, very big footsteps of double European champion Sofia Polcanova at table tennis Champions League semi-finalists Linz. Conversely, the Dutchwoman is currently making headlines in her home country as a "super mother". . .
European Junior Champion 2010, European Team Champion 2011, Champions League Winner 2021", is one of the words on Britt Eerland's "Visitekaartje". Who is currently only called "super moeder" - meaning "super mother" - in the media in her Dutch homeland after reaching the round of 16 at the WTT Singapore Smash on her comeback after a 20-month maternity leave.
"That's also sensational," says Linz-AG-Froschberg boss Günther Renner about his new table tennis hopeful. Who is set to follow in the huge footsteps of double European champion Sofia Polcanova in the Champions League.
In general, there is not yet much information on the subject of pregnancy and top-class sport.

"I wouldn't put it past Britt - simply because she plays with a lot of heart and soul," says Renner about the 30-year-old, who even robbed Linz and Polcanova of the Champions League triumph in 2021. "Back then, she led Berlin to victory against us in the final," says Renner.
However, the big difference is that Eerland is now not only three years older, but also the mother of a daughter named Zaya.
However, the Dutchwoman began to think intensively about the topic of "top-class sport and pregnancy" long before she gave birth. However, as she found too little information on the subject, she began to look for answers herself.
Tips from judo and sailing athletes too
She turned to sailor Marit Bouwmeester, who had become a mother the year before, and Judika Kim Kim Polling, who had given birth in 2022. In the end, this even led to Eerland having a pelvic floor physiotherapist. Who ultimately gave the green light for TT training after two months of postnatal exercises.
