Youth gang terrorizes Vienna: violent orgy video
Whip-wielding thugs at Westbahnhof. A recent video shows their willingness to use violence. The Minister of the Interior is now sending a new police force.
Vienna has been shaken by several terrible crimes in recent weeks. Mass rapes, murders and brawls - often committed by young people. The FPÖ took to the streets to protest against this. The federal government is discussing lowering the age of criminal responsibility. The reason: the perpetrators are getting younger and younger, and children are often even used as decoys. The fact is: Vienna has a problem with youth gangs.
The number of crimes committed by young people and children under 14 has doubled in the past ten years. Another problem is that criminals are becoming increasingly brutal.
This is also confirmed by several residents around Christian-Broda-Platz in Mariahilf. In the evening and at night, the gateway to the inner Mariahilfer Straße becomes a meeting place for young violent criminals. A local resident: "I always try to be home in daylight. I don't go outside at night anyway. This week I was asked for a cigarette. As I'm a non-smoker, I said no. I was then insulted and spat at. Not the first time."
Another resident reports nightly excesses of violence and patrols by so-called vice squads. Videos and photos have already been leaked to the "Krone" several times. The latest footage from the weekend also leaves no doubt about the violent nature of these young people.
New task force takes up duty in Vienna tomorrow
Preferred weapon: leather belts. The young men then go into battle with these and try to injure each other. They hit each other with full force. Drugs and alcohol are often involved. A local resident: "You really notice how the aggression increases as the evening progresses. The young men incite each other."
The Ministry of the Interior is also alarmed. Tomorrow, Monday, officers from a new task force against juvenile delinquency will begin their work in a special operation in Vienna. Interior Minister Gerhard Karner (ÖVP) signed a decree to this effect on Friday. Karner: "The aim is to protect children and take violent offenders out of circulation, and to do so with proper vigor and the severity available to the rule of law."
