Oberwart Clinic
Water damage brings new time pressure until the start
A few weeks before the opening of the new Oberwart Clinic, the effects of water damage in the dialysis ward are now being dealt with. The renovation work is currently running at full speed, but the schedule for the opening of the clinic on May 7 is to be maintained.
The relocation to the new clinic has been underway for almost two weeks. This is considered the most delicate phase of the largest building construction project in Burgenland's history. However, recent water damage on the first floor is now putting Gesundheit Burgenland under considerable pressure. However, the schedule for the opening of the clinic, which will take place on May 7, is expected to be adhered to, according to inquiries.
Major damage could be prevented
The water damage in the dialysis unit was recognized immediately and renovation work was started. Investigations are currently underway into how the damage came about. "Such unforeseeable events must always be expected when commissioning such large buildings - despite ongoing inspections. However, it is important that the schedule for the further relocation and the opening of the clinic remains on track, as has always been communicated," explains Franz Öller, Commercial Director of Gesundheit Burgenland. It should also be noted that the excellent cooperation between all trades meant that the damage was discovered as quickly as possible, thus preventing major damage to the building.
Open days on two weekends in April
Visitors can take a first look at the new clinic at open days from April 4 to 6 and from April 11 to 13. The departments and services will be presented on more than 20 wards.
