Following the Hamas massacre on 7 October, Israel is making accusations that the UN refugee agency UNRWA has links to the terrorist organization Hamas. A newly surfaced video is said to prove that an UNRWA social worker actively participated in the large-scale attack on Israel. The man had lifted a dead or unconscious Israeli into the back of an SUV. This is the first time that a suspected UNRWA employee has been publicly accused by name.

The video is said to show an incident in Kibbutz Be'eri. It was first published on October 10, 2023 - three days after the Hamas attack - by the Telegram channel "South First Responders", reported the Times of Israel. However, the explosive nature of the recording has only now become public after a social worker from the UN relief organization was reportedly identified.

According to the Israeli Ministry of Defense, the man is said to be Faisal Ali Mussalem Al Naami. In the video, he follows another man who gets out of a car with a rifle. Together, they carry a corpse lying in the middle of the road in the local area to the car and load it onto the back. They then briefly search through the scattered objects before driving off.

Relief organization does not want to give any information about the man's identity
An UNRWA spokesperson commented on the allegations: "UNRWA is unable to verify the footage or photos and determine who the person is." The Israeli authorities had not provided sufficient evidence, said Jonathan Fowler.

Israel's Ministry of Defense announced that, according to intelligence, there are "significant indications" that more than 30 UNRWA employees took part in the massacre on 7 October. Defense Minister Yoav Gallant estimates that around twelve percent of all employees of the aid organization have links to Hamas.
