25-year-old wanted to spit on Viennese police officers

On Tuesday evening, a 25-year-old man attacked several police officers in Vienna-Favoriten. The officers even had to give the rioter a spit guard during the arrest.

The 25-year-old went completely berserk at around 10 pm during an identity check. He attacked the officers with punches and kicks. One of them was injured in the face, neck and wrist.

Reinforcements requested
The suspect was then arrested. However, the 25-year-old became even more aggressive, so that reinforcements had to be called in. Both handcuffs and a spit guard had to be put on the man as he had tried to spit at the officers several times.

The injured police officer had to leave his duties after the attack and was taken to hospital.
