Outside the pub: witnesses were able to stop the knife attacker

An argument between two men in Kufstein, Tyrol, got completely out of hand on Saturday night: a 20-year-old allegedly tried to stab his 28-year-old opponent in the stomach. Other people were able to stop the attacker. The police are looking for witnesses to the incident.

Shortly after 2.30 a.m., the argument between the Syrian and the local man is said to have escalated in the vicinity of a pub on Unterer Stadtplatz.

"In thecourse of this, the 20-year-old Syrian is said to have tried to stab the 28-year-old Austrian in the stomach with a knife, which was prevented by third parties present", according to the police.

Police are looking for eyewitnesses
The reason for the altercation is currently unknown. Possible witnesses are being sought due to the "as yet unclear facts".
