Car with child on board rolls over mother in Tyrol

A devastating accident on Tuesday evening in the Tyrolean Außerfern: a 40-year-old local woman was run over by her own car in front of a house in the Tannheimer Tal valley and seriously injured. Only her nine-year-old son was in the car at the time of the accident. He immediately alerted his father - investigations are underway.

The fatal incident occurred shortly after 7.30 pm. On the forecourt of the house, the 40-year-old local woman was knocked over by the "slowly reversing car" and subsequently rolled over, the police reported. "While the woman remained lying down, the car continued to roll and was finally stopped by a parked vehicle," the investigators continued.

40-year-old woman suffered injuries to her back
The mother, who according to the police had suffered injuries to her back, was responsive. She was first treated on the spot by the emergency services and then taken to hospital in Kempten.

It is still unclear why the car started up in front of the house. Investigations into the exact course of the accident are ongoing.
