The local publishing house "edition V" recently published the book "Hundespazierwege in Vorarlberg", which offers suggestions for outings with your four-legged friend throughout the state.

For dog owners, walking is a must. However, you soon realize that the fresh air and exercise are not only good for the four-legged friend, but also for the owner. Unfortunately, there is often a lack of time or creativity - and then it just becomes the usual walk around the block. But if you want to add a little more zest to your walks, you can now find the right reading material: Marion Susanne Hofer from Feldkirch and her Miniature Schnauzer girl have explored the country and the Ländle together in countless steps and walks.

Great variety of walking trails
"Our favorites are summarized in the book and should be understood as suggestions. Depending on the breed, age, size and condition of the dog, the tours can be individually adapted," explains Hofer. The immense variety of great walks is astonishing. Although Austria's westernmost province is smaller than Paris with an area of around 2,600 square kilometers, it offers countless wonderful nature experiences in a very small area. You can stroll along the lakeshore, enjoy the panorama in the mountains, explore gorges, cross moors, discover historically valuable cultural landscapes or simply balance barefoot over hill and dale.

Feelings of happiness on a walk
Incidentally, author Marion Susanne Hofer never goes anywhere without her dog. Even at work, Emma is always by her side and tucks into the blanket next to her owner. As the dog expert writes in her foreword, the mere presence of a furry friend can cause the human body to release the "happiness hormone" oxytocin.

Together with the feelings of happiness that come with walking, dog walks must therefore be the highest of feelings. So grab the dog leash and let's go!
