6 months after giving birth
ÖSV mom celebrates surprising return in Saalbach
Tamara Tippler is back! Around six months after the birth of her daughter Mia, the ÖSV athlete will be competing as a forerunner at the World Cup final in Saalbach.
"My goal was always to be able to start as a forerunner in the final races and to be fit enough to do it. Anyone who has had a child knows that it's a challenge. The whole body changes, it's so easy to imagine," the 32-year-old explains in the podcast "Wos dahinter steckt" by ski racer Conny Hütter and former ÖSV lady Nicole Schmidhofer. In principle, you start from scratch, says Tippler.
She now has a total of six training days on snow. The program included a super-G session with the men in Saalbach. "I was a little nervous," admits Tippler. "Now we'll see what comes out of the preliminary run."
"A big advantage"
Then she will have to find out whether her head is in the game: "Am I ready to ski down with conviction or not?" In any case, she was fully focused during training and then turned her full attention back to her Mia: "It's so nice because you have a change. That could be a big advantage for me personally."
