Mass panic breaks out in Millennium City
On Sunday evening at around 6.15 pm, a brawl between young people caused panic in Vienna's Millennium City. Visitors reported hearing gunshots and ran out of the popular shopping center.
A brawl moved from the Handelskai rapid transit station to the shopping center in the 20th district. According to information from "Krone", two gangs of Chechen youths were fighting. One of them is said to have pulled out a blank-firing pistol, and a knife may also have been brought out to threaten the others. The police could only confirm that a knife had been seized and discovered in the toilets of the shopping center.
According to witnesses, a shot was also fired from a blank-firing pistol. "Numerous visitors ran away in panic," wrote one X user on Sunday evening. They were able to leave the building quickly and were not injured.
We have handed over all the CCTV footage of the incident with the blank-firing pistol to the police, who are currently analyzing it.
