Surfer rescued from Wallersee

Despite the approaching cold front, a surfer was out on Lake Wallersee on Saturday morning. When the bad weather set in, he lost his strength and was rescued.

The water rescue team rescued a surfer from Lake Wallersee on Saturday afternoon. The man had run out of strength as bad weather set in. He was unable to reach the shore in Zell am Wallersee or climb back onto his surfboard. The water rescue team picked up the uninjured but slightly hypothermic man and brought him ashore.

Nine emergency crews and a lifeboat from the water rescue service were deployed. The Seekirchen fire department and the Red Cross were also on standby.
