“A season like this must not happen again”

Two victories, three podium places. Vincent Kriechmayr was Austria's speed figurehead again this year, but fell short of his expectations. Before the final in Saalbach, the 32-year-old took time out for "Krone" to talk about the past season, the many rejections and his wishes for the future.

"Krone": Vincent, the season is coming to an end, how would you sum it up?
Vincent Kriechmayr: Not entirely satisfactory, I have to be honest. The downhill in particular was very, very modest. I wanted to fight for a bullet this year, but I didn't succeed. Of course I still have a theoretical chance in the super-G, but to be honest, against an Odermatt in this form it's only a very theoretical one.
