Secret election
Bernhard Heinzle remains President of the Vorarlberg Chamber of Labor
On Thursday, Heinzle was confirmed as President of the Vorarlberg Chamber of Labor with 62 of a total of 70 votes.
Vorarlberg's Chamber of Labor (AK) President Bernhard Heinzle from the Fraktion Christlicher Gewerkschafter (FCG-AK) was confirmed in his position on Thursday. The 48-year-old was elected by 62 of the 70 Chamber members at the constituent AK General Assembly. The three Vice Presidents Jessica Lutz (FCG-AK), Thomas Jutz (FCG-AK) and Manuela Auer from the Social Democratic Trade Unionists Group (FSG) were also re-elected.
Heinzle took over the presidency from Hubert Hämmerle (FCG-AK) in November 2022 - he received 54 out of 69 votes from the plenary assembly at the time. Although his FCG-AK group lost around five percentage points in the AK election at the beginning of February, it remained the strongest grouping with 42.3%. The FSG followed in second place with 28.1% (2019: 30.2; -2.1), while the Freedom Trade Unionists (FA) came third with 14.5% (2019: 7.9, +6.6). The current distribution of seats is as follows: FCG-AK 31 seats, FSG 20, FA 10, "Heimat aller Kulturen" (HaK) 5, "Gemeinsam" 3, "Neue Bewegung für die Zukunft" (NBZ) 1.
Financial discharge
Following his re-election, Heinzle announced his intention to campaign in particular for financial relief for employees. He emphasized that employees need a strong voice in the current difficult times.
