Major operation due to burning pile of wood

Late on Sunday afternoon, the fire department had to be called out in Bartholomäberg because a pile of wood had caught fire. An entire house almost went up in flames.

It is not yet clear why the wood stacked directly against a house wall caught fire. When the fire was discovered, the flames had already spread to the building. The homeowner alerted the fire department and set about fighting the fire himself. 

The success was limited, however, and the man later had to be taken to Bludenz regional hospital with suspected smoke inhalation. The firefighters finally managed to extinguish the fire. The damage to the façade is considerable.
